MARGAO: Aam Aadmi Party said that the turncoat BJP MLA from Canacona Isidore Fernandes should answer the people of Canacona and Goa whether destruction of ‘Karmal ghat’ forests was part of the deal to shift from the Cong to the BJP.
AAP demanded that speaker Rajesh Patnekar should disqualify Fernandes and the rest of the MLAs who had been sold by the congress and readily purchased by the BJP, as their continuation as MLAs, was causing unabated destruction of Goa from all sides. AAP leader Sidharth Karapurkar said that it was a misfortune that Goa had a government that did not give any importance to forest cover but had one that was seeking to destroy forests under the slightest pretext of ‘development’.
“The unholy nexus between Congress and BJP to indulge in import and export of MLAs who in turn help themselves at the cost of the land of the people should be broken once and for all” said Karapurkar.
