MARGAO: The Loutolim Village Panchayat has called for a special gram sabha on September 29 to discuss and approve the Coastal Zone Management Plan prepared by the villagers before sending it to the government.
Concerned villagers took the stakeholders in the village into confidence. They consulted the fishermen, farmers, tenants’ associations and technical persons and taking all the inputs have prepared a truly people CZMP.
This Draft CZMP will first be discussed at the Village Development Committee on September 25 and then presented to the gram sabha,
The villagers were helped by NGOs and Geology Department of Chowgule College in preparing the CZMP.
