MARGAO: The Rumdamol Panchayat has decided to hold a special gram sabha for resolving removal of a mobile pole and a tower.
The issue of a mobile pole erected on the roof of a house in a crowded locality has been going on in Rumdamol for months. The issue gained momentum after the owner of the house decided to go ahead with the work of erection of mobile pole, even after being told to stop the work. People from the locality have opined that the pole may be erected in any non-populated area, but not in the thickly populated areas.
Panch Avita Chodankar said they do not want the work of erecting the pole to continue as people opposed it and hence they have resolved to remove the pole from the roof of the house.
The Sarpanch of Rumdamol Safiya Shaikh said the issue of towers has been there for quite some time now and there was another tower in ward number one and in the next special gram sabha we will discuss and resolve to remove both.
