PANJIM: The State government on Friday notified a special scheme for Assistance for sugarcane growers of the State through the Sanjivani Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd. The farmers are to be provided assistance for a maximum five years or till the scheme is withdrawn.
The detailed assistance will be as follows: First year (2020-21) Rs 3,000 per tonne; second year (2021-22) Rs 2,800 per tonne; third year (2022-23) Rs 2,600 per tonne; fourth year (2023-24) Rs 2,400 per tonne; and finally for fifth year (2024-25) Rs 2,200 per tonne.
