PANJIM: Goa Governor Mridula Sinha has summoned the State Legislative Assembly on May 9, to pass the Goods and Service Tax (GST) Bill.
The Assembly has been summoned at 11.30 am.
With the Union Government’s July 1 date to roll out the unified indirect tax regime just over two months away, States have to pass the bill before that so it can be implemented.
Earlier this month, Parliament passed four legislations to pave the way for the roll out of the Goods and Service Tax , including the Central GST Bill, 2017, Integrated GST Bill, 2017, GST (Compensation to States) Bill, 2017, and the Union Territory Goods and Service Tax Bill, 2017.
