MARGAO: An activist from Raia, Jesus Romao has demanded that the government set up speed barriers on the sharp turns alongside the highway of the village given the numerous accidents that have taken place including fatal ones.
“As you can see the curve of the road is very sharp and this issue should have been addressed when the road was being constructed. There were barriers here in the past but they have been broken. There is a gutter too and people have fallen inside. There have been accidents and people have lost their lives,” Romao said.
He questioned if the government will only wake up when there is another fatal accident.
