SpiceJet moves out of Dabolim Airport

VASCO: In yet another blow to the Dabolim International Airport, the SpiceJet has moved its operations from the Dabolim Airport even as the Airport Director Dhanamjaya Rao said that the airlines had closed its operations at Dabolim six months back.

Reacting to the reports of SpiceJet shifting its operations from Dabolim, Rao said that the airlines operated its last flight from Dabolim Airport in October 2023.

Stating that there was no particular reason for the decision, he said that it was the company’s business decision. Rao said that there was lot of misconception, that Dabolim Airport was costlier to operate which is absolutely wrong.

The UDF (user development fees) charges and the operating cost at Dabolim Airport was less compared to other airports, he claimed.
