Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Dr Shekhar Salkar has confirmed that Rajasthan Royals player S Sreesanth had skipped two matches of the South Zone One Day Tournament for Subbaiah Pillai Trophy, held in Goa this February.

PANJIM: Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Dr Shekhar Salkar has confirmed that Rajasthan Royals player S Sreesanth had skipped two matches of the South Zone One Day Tournament for Subbaiah Pillai Trophy, held in Goa this February.

The cricketer was infact soaking in the sun on Ashvem and Morjim beaches with an unidentified British woman.

“He did not play two matches. According to records he was with his British girlfriend. We had even booked a hotel at Vasco for the entire team members but I don’t think he stayed there,” Salkar told Herald.

Sreesanth, who along with two other RR players Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan is cooling his heels in a Delhi jail for alleged spot fixing in IPL, was even fined for one match.  Out of total five matches he had to play, he missed two matches at BITS Pilani, and played the rest.

The GCA will be holding its monthly meeting in the coming week wherein the issue of spot-fixing scandal will be raised. All Goan cricketers playing local, domestic and IPL cricket will be attending the meeting.
