Sri Sai Enterprises fined for manufacturing adulterated papad

PANJIM: The chief judicial magistrate at Panjim has fined M/s Sri Sai Enterprises, Canacona Industrial Estate, and its two partners, Rs 2,500 each, for manufacturing and sale of adulterated papad.

PANJIM: The chief judicial magistrate at Panjim has fined M/s Sri Sai Enterprises, Canacona Industrial Estate, and its two partners, Rs 2,500 each, for manufacturing and sale of adulterated papad. 
The case of the prosecution is that the sleuths of Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) confiscated papads during a raid on Presidential Super Market, Kadamba bus stand, Panjim, and sent the same for testing at which it was revealed that the papads were adulterated. 
According to the prosecution, the papads were manufactured by M/s Sri Sai Enterprises and supplied to Presidential Super Market for sale. 
Following this, the then Food Inspector, Iva Fernandes of Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration, had filed a case against the food business operators, which resulted in imposition of fine on the offenders. APP Anna Mendonza represented the state in the case.
