NEW DELHI: Former Goa Chief Secretary S K Srivastava, a 1980 batch IAS officer of the Union Territory cadre, was on Tuesday picked up as the new chief secretary of Delhi by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The Home Ministry cleared his name for the top post in Delhi administration on a request from Kejriwal to relieve him from the Central post as an additional secretary in the Health Ministry.
Srivastava replaces D M Spolia, the 1976 batch IAS officer considered close to former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. He also had a stint as the vice-chairman of Delhi Development Authority.
