ANJUNA/PANJIM: Even as there were reports of the Narcotics Control Bureau officials having landed in Goa Thursday morning to quiz hotelier Gaurav Arya for his alleged links with actress Rhea Chakraborty, the prime accused in the Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case, there was no sign of the team in the State.

The name of Arya, who owns two resorts in Anjuna, sprung up in the Rajput death case after social media chats of his with Chakraborty were leaked in which the two talked about banned drugs.

As per sources, after a drug angle came to notice in the Rajput death, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) began its investigation and have filed a case in Delhi.

As per national media reports, Arya has denied any drug peddling charges, saying that he knew Chakraborty only socially and he hadn’t met her in the past three and-a-half years.

Born and brought up in Old Delhi, Gaurav started his career with an advertising agency called Grey Worldwide in Delhi. He studied music in the UK and moved to Goa in 2007 and is connected to Bollywood.

Right from early Thursday, following the national media reports that a NCB team would arrive in Goa to investigate the hotelier, a lot of excitement and anxiety was generated in Anjuna as the national and local media lined up near his hotels.

The media waited the entire day outside the resort for the NCB team to arrive, however, till late evening there was no sign of the team.

As per sources, the hotelier has been staying in a rented flat in Siolim for over a year now, however, in the last five months he has not visited the flat.

Sources also said that on Thursday morning at 4am two persons had entered one of the resorts owned by Arya at Anjuna in casual clothes, but their identity was not known.
