PANJIM: Village panchayat of St. Andre (Goa Velha) organised a function for distribution of items purchased by the panchayats for community development under 14th finance commission grants.
A total of 6 schools, 4 temples, 6 Anganwadis and more than 10 chapels availed benefits under the grants.
On the occasion, schools were given desktop computers, printers, keyboards, water purifiers. Anganwadis were given black boards, water filters, games. Temples were given chairs, tabla and sangat. Ward wide chapels were given chairs. Churches were provided with keyboard, guitar and chairs. Casa do Povo hall was also given chairs.
Village panchayat of St Andre (Goa Velha) also opened a gym in association with Goa Velha Sports Club. Sports equipments were also purchased by the panchayats to be used by the villagers.
