MARGAO: Pobre D’Costa, 39, continued to elude the police on Tuesday after stabbing his 42-year-old brother Alleluia D’Costa on Monday afternoon at Guirim, Nuvem after a fight over personal matter.
Earlier in the morning Pobre picked up a fight as Alleluia had brought labourers to some work on the first floor of his house as Pobre lives in the ancestral house attached to it.
In the afternoon, he suddenly picked up a fight with Alleluia and after pushing him down to the ground, started stabbing him with a knife till Alleluia’s wife Rency pulled him away and seeing the crowd Pobre fled from the scene.
Alleluia had three stab injuries on his abdomen and was rushed to Goa Medical College where his condition is reported to be stable. Police have booked a case under Sections 504, 506(2) and 307 of IPC against Pobre for attempt to murder.
