PANJIM: A main witness in the 2011 gang rivalry attack, which killed one gangster, is now wanted in a stabbing case by the Panjim police station.
Manjunath Kamble has been charged with stabbing Ashraf Sheikh – alleged prime accused in the Salvador (Ghalu) Fernándes murder case. The incident happened on Thursday afternoon when Manjunath allegedly attacked Ashraf with a knife at Dona Paula. Ashraf had then returned from a trial in the 20th murder case that had occurred in Miramar.
Sources said the Panjim police had deployed tight security around the local court anticipating gang fight on Thursday. The attack however took place at Dona Paula. The victim in this case was immediately rushed to the hospital while search for the alleged attacker is on. Police said they have launched a massive manhunt to track him.
