Staff crunch at Collem post office irks villagers

PONDA: Shortage of staff at the Collem post office over the last three months have been inconveniencing locals who complained that they have to waste precious time standing in the queue for hours together to get their work done.

“The office lacks sufficient staff and the computer system has been inoperative too. Locals have to go either to Tisk-Usgao or Curchorem to deal with their letter business,” said an irate villager.

It is pertinent to note that the Collem panchayat area is an extremely rural part and the post office was very useful for the locals. The current state of the post office might affect youths in the locality, some of whom are awaiting their job letters.
