MARGAO: Expressing confidence that the government would complete its full term, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday called upon the people of South Goa to stand by Adv Narendra Sawaikar to create new India of opportunities and happiness.”
He was addressing the NDA public meeting organised to support of the South Goa BJP candidate Narendra Sawaikar, which was largely attended by people of Salcete.
“We are very sure and confident that our Government in Goa will complete the remaining 3 years. In the same manner people of South Goa will have to stand by Adv Sawaikar. We need your support to create new India of opportunities and happiness,” Sawant said.
“Margao has to develop at much higher speed. But only promises were made by erstwhile Congress governments. It took Narendra Modi to finally come and inaugurate the Zuari Bridge work, which will soon be completed,” the Chief Minister said.
Deputy Chief Minister Babu Azgaonkar said, “We need the support of Centre to take ahead the work started by Parrikar and the Central Government will help when we will elect Adv Sawaikar as the South Goa MP.”
“For 55 years Congress ruled and still says “Garibi Hatao”, Adv Narendra Sawaikar said and alleged that Congress is taking all parties together only to oppose Narendra Modi but has nothing to do for the country.
He called upon the people to achieve cent per cent voting this election.
Deputy CM and Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai said, “We are going a step forward with the motto of “Think Global and Focus Local”. We (Goa Forward) are the youngest member of the largest alliance of India – the NDA. It was a difficult decision. However, it is important to mention that we have joined to complete all the works and assurances that were pending in Salcete.”
“Where have you heard that a BJP which heads a State has facilitated a kabrastan for the minorities? It’s happened in Margao. They (Congress) took votes in the name of kabrastan in Margao. We took the issue and now kabrastan will be a reality now,” Vijai assured.
“We have been able to deliver this because we are in NDA. We have done good to all including Catholics and Muslims of Goa and will continue to do so,” he added.
