‘Start austerity measures, reduce cabinet size to 6, drop dy CMs’

MARGAO:  Aam Aadmi party has recommended to the state government to start austerity measures without any further loss of time by curtailing nonessential expenditures.

AAP Convenor Elvis Gomes said that the government should make a beginning by downsizing the cabinet to 6 and dropping the posts of dy CMs as there was no work for them. He said that the Centre’s decision to keep in abeyance the GST share of ₹1018 crores due to the shortfall in collection, would reduce the ‘surplus budget’ of Rs 21056 cr presented by the Chief Minister in February 2020, to a sheet of paper and would remain a pipe dream.
