State continues to battle heat wave

IMD forecasts rainfall for Tuesday

PANJIM: The State continues to battle heat wave condition with the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting rise in temperature by one to two degree Celsius for next three days. On Monday, the temperature remained at 34 Degree Celsius. 

The scorching heat is expected to continue to cause discomfort as the summer at its peak. On April 22, the State recorded its highest day temperature at 36 Degree Celsius, three degree above normal. This was the highest day temperature recorded in April since 1989. 

The increasing rainfall activities in isolated places and dry air in the hinterland areas is resulting into rising temperature in other parts of the State. The IMD Goa In-Charge Rahul said that there will be a gradual rise in maximum temperature by around 1-2 Degree Celsius during 72 hours. The night temperatures have also been above normal. The IMD has forecast rainfall activities for Tuesday.
