PANJIM: The State Election Office has geared up for the counting of votes polled for the two Lok Sabha seats in the State. The counting of votes will be taken up on June 4.
According to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), there will be one counting centre each in both North and South Goa Parliamentary constituencies.
There would be maximum of seven rounds of counting. In North Goa, there would be 157 counting tables while in South Goa there would be 161 counting centres.
The administration has taken every precaution t ensure a smooth, transparent and error free tallying of votes in the State.
In North Goa, there 236 micro observers will be deployed, 282 counting supervisors, 282 counting assistants, 376 RO Staff and 163 ARO staff will be deployed.
Similarly, in South Goa, there would be 242 micro observers, 220 counting supervisors, 200 counting assistants, 210 RO Staff and 420 ARO Staff.
In North Goa there would be 454 counting agents and in South Goa there would be 495 counting agents.
In North Goa, a total of 706 security personnel would be deployed while in South Goa the number would be 651.
In North Goa, there would be seven observers while in South Goa there would be six observers.
Multipurpose Cyclone Shelter Building, Altinho, Panaji, is the strong room for North Goa while Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, Comba, Margao, is the strong room in North Goa.
