State has great scope for start-ups: Union Minister

VASCO/PANJIM: Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Tuesday said that Goa had tremendous scope for start-ups and Information Technology (IT).

Chandrashekhar said that he had already held talks with IT Minister Rohan Khaunte and other officials in this regard. 

He said that the Government of India is working actively to create a robust ecosystem in the State for start-ups and entrepreneurship. 

The main objective of the government is that every young Indian should get an opportunity to do a job or get into self-employment through micro entrepreneurship, he said.

Referring to the Data Protection Bill, the Minister said that the new draft is out for consideration and advised the people to read it and submit their suggestions if any.

Later in the day at Panjim, Chandrasekhar addressed BJP Core Committee meeting where he took stock of the Central government schemes being implemented in the State.
