PANJIM: The State administration on Sunday issued an order extending the State-wide curfew till 7 am of June 14, while allowing essential stores to remain open till 3 pm.
The current curfew was supposed to be lifted on June 7.
As per the order issued by the District Collectors under Section 144 of CrPC, the grocery shops as well as standalone liquor outlets are permitted to remain open for public from 7 am to 3 pm every day, as against earlier timing of 1 pm.
Also, with monsoon setting in, the government has permitted shops or stores selling items related to monsoon preparedness or rain protection and house or building repairs, to remain open during the curfew period.
At the same time, while schools, colleges, coaching institutions will continue to remain shut, the government has permitted those conducting examination of college students to be functional.
The government has continued the ban on functioning of casinos, river cruises, gyms, pubs, hotels and restaurants for dine-in, saloon and spa, religious places, cinema theatre, educational institutions, etc.
The government has also prohibited weddings, public, religious and political events except those with government permission.
COVID-19 negative test report, 72 hours within the travel, is a must for visitors entering the State, except for the persons entering for medical emergencies and goods vehicles.
