State ranks 3rd in GGI

PANJIM: Goa, with highest incremental change of 24.7 per cent in 2020-21 over 2019, has emerged among the top three States after Gujarat and Maharashtra in the Good Governance Index (GGI) 2020-21 issued by the Centre on Saturday. 

However, the coastal State ranked at the bottom in providing public safety. 

According to GGI 2020-21, Goa scored 5.35 as against its earlier score of 4.29, with an overall increase of 24.7 per cent. The State has performed strongly in five of the 10 sectors like Agriculture and Allied Sector, Commerce and Industry, Public Infrastructure and Utilities, Economic Governance, Social Welfare and Development and Environment.
