PANJIM: Goa is among 10 States which has been selected by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development for the implementation of three key verticals in mission mode viz Mission Poshan 2.0, Mission Shakti and Mission Vatsalya for physical, social and economic development and strengthening of women and children.
To further discuss the roadmap for launch of these three missions, a conference of State Ministers and Secretaries of Women and Child Development Ministries/Departments has been convened at Statue of Unity, Kevadia, Gujarat on August 30 and 31.
The roadmap for launch of the Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2021 would also be discussed during the two-day conference.
Mission Poshan 2.0 will look into ways to strengthen nutritional content, delivery, outreach, and outcomes, while Mission Vatsalya will look into child protection services and child welfare services. Mission Shakti will consist of policies and schemes for protection and empowerment of women.
Moreover, to symbolise Goa’s coordinated efforts to achieve the goal of Suposhrt Bharat and strengthen the clarion call of “Ek Bharat Shresfha Bharat”, a collective activity has been planned in the vicinity of the Statue of Unity, where one fruit sapling and one medicinal plant, unique to each State/UT will be planted. This will be followed by the conference.
