ponda: Calling on the government to shoulder the responsibility of local Goans who lost their livelihood during the COVID-19 lockdown and provide them with a financial package. He added that the State should demand a financial package of Rs 2,000 crore from the Centre, while adding that he had written to the CM.
In his letter, he highlighted the plight of those who have been hit hard.
He said the Centre’s assurance of providing Rs 177 crore is not sufficient.
Naik also demanded that mining activities be restarted immediately so that the public and mining dependents get respite.
He also expressed caution about Goa being declared as COVID-free and felt that in reality, the State is not safe given the many positive cases in Belgaum.
