Chief Secretary RK Srivastava told Herald that security has been increased after the advisory from the Ministry of Home Affairs. “It is a general advisory in wake of the recent tensions with the neighbours but we are not taking anything lightly as the State will host the BRICS summit this month,” Srivastava said.
Asked whether Goa Police is capable of handling such a situation, he said, “The Goa Police force is inadequate to handle such a situation and such an important summit involving big nations. Hence we have asked for additional forces from the Centre ahead of the summit.”
