PANJIM: The State government will on Friday distribute the one-time financial assistance of Rs two lakh, in form of ex-gratia relief, to the families of COVID-19 victims.
The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant informed that a total 125 applications have been received from the families of the COVID-19 victim.
Sawant said that in absence or delay in obtaining death certificate has resulted into many failing to apply under the scheme.
To avail the benefit of the scheme, the annual income of the family should not exceed Rs 8 lakh and the family will be eligible for a single claim even if there is more than one death.
The chief minister will also be distributing forms to avail Rs 5000 financial assistance for unorganised sector affected due to the COVID-19 imposed lockdown.
