PANJIM: The State government will be holding one of the biggest Asia’s National Parliament Conferences next month with issues linked to youth, women and local bodies to be discussed and debated “without any political interference”.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, at a press conference on Tuesday said that the conference is being held as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (celebrating 75 years of India’s progress) and Goa@60.
The conference to be held from November 8 to 12, will be held at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium as participants from across the country are invited.
Dr Sawant informed that on November 8-9, the National Women’s Parliament will be held followed by National Youth Parliament on November 10-11 and National Panchayat Parliament will be held on the concluding day November 12.
“We have invited the concerned Union ministers to inaugurate the conferences on the respective days. I have also written to the Chief Ministers of all the States/UTs to send at least one representative for the national conference to discuss various issues that would also include subjects pertaining to their respective places,” said the Chief Minister. The free online registration commences on Wednesday.
“It will not have any political interference and various related issues besides career, political leadership, etc will be discussed and debated during the participation across all the five days,” Sawant added.
