State to procure PCR machine for swab, anti-body testing

PANJIM: The State Health Department is in the process of procuring the latest PCR machine to undertake swab and anti-body testing.

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said they are expediting the procurement process as it would facilitate speeding up swab tests to maximum 1000.

“We are currently in the process to procure it soon and install this at the earliest so we can speed up our process to test 450 to 1000 swabs. The machine, when necessary, shall also be used for antibody testing. We are determined in our fight COVID-19 for a healthy and safe Goa,” he tweeted. 

In another development, the government has ensured 24X7 functioning of the virology lab at Goa Medical College to cater to doing maximum tests and strengthen fight against COVID-19.
