PANJIM: The Government of Goa has reconstituted the State Water and Sanitation Mission (SWSM) with SWSM – Apex Committee and SWSM – Executive Committee for successful implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), a centrally sponsored scheme under the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, National Jal Jeevan Mission, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.
The SWSM will be headed by the Chief Secretary Parimal Rai, IAS with Principal Secretary of PWD, Representative of Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, Secretaries of Health, Finance, Rural Development, Panchayats, Education, Information & Publicity, Planning as members. Principal Chief Engineer of PWD, Chief Engineer – I, PWD will be the Member Secretary.
The Member Secretary will be responsible for all the mission activities and for convening the meeting of the SWSM – Apex Committee.
