PANJIM: Shiv Sena, the party which had announced of contesting 22-25 seats in the ensuing 2022 Assembly elections, on Friday said that the ongoing political development in Goa has turned into a ‘shameless’ activity. Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said the State was currently witnessing ‘political carnival’.
“Goan citizens should show them the door… I have heard that Trinamool Congress (TMC) is contesting the polls… The political parties from Delhi and West Bengal are contesting in Goa,” he said addressing a press conference in city.
Raut claimed that Shiv Sena, besides Maharashtra, has a strong base in Goa where it has been present for over two decades. “We are emotionally and culturally connected to Goa,” Raut said.
The Uddhav Thackarey-led party has decided to go solo and field its candidates in 22-25 seats.
When asked about the possibility of alliance Raut said, “We have our own base and we are sure to win on majority seats with it. Goa deserved healthy politics and healthy governance”.
