A fire accident was reported in the early hour of Wednesday morning. A shop situated behind Loyola High School on the ground floor of the building was completely gutted in the fire. The owner of the shop Sanjan Naik has claimed 100 percent loss and said the amount cannot be estimated.
The timely arrival of the fire brigade from fire station, however, prevented the fire from engulfing the to the adjacent area and upper floor flats. The sides of the building and were partially smoked up with the fire.
The goods were destroyed in the fire accidents are reportedly 3 big canon printers, small printers, computer system and other stationery items. The cause of the fire is attributed to be a short circuit and loss due to the accident is 100 percent where the amount cannot be estimated, said Sanjan Naik, shop owner.
According to, Sanjan “all the electric switches were turn off before rolling down the shutter of the shop at night, only CCTV camera switch was kept on, as usual”. “I received the call saying smoke is fuming out of the shop at around 4:30 in the morning and I rushed on the spot but was unable to douse the fire. However, by the time “I tried to open the shutter and try saying goods in the shop the entire shop was engulfed in fire”.
It was only after the arrival of fire personnel team the fire was brought under control. The team managed to save the entire building and other adjacent area form engulfing in the fire.
