PANJIM: Revenue Minister Atanasio `Babush Monserrate’ on Tuesday said that the government will take steps to settle pending Mundkar cases in the State within next six months.
According to Monserrate, who has been given revenue portfolio said that there were as many as 16,260 Mundkar cases pending across the State. He said that this was not proper and that people should get their Mundkarial rights as per the Act. He said that a special mechanism will be devised to expedite the pending Mundkar cases. Speed and efforts will be made to settle them within next six months.
Monserrate said there will be mamlatdars, who will exclusively hear Mundkar cases and settle them expeditiously.
