VALPOI: Claiming that a letter accusing its directors of misusing power and harassing staff is a forgery, the Sattari Taluka Farmers Service Co-operative Society (STFSCS) at Valpoi has accused a few persons of tarnishing the reputation of the 40-year-old society.
Addressing a news conference at STFSCS premises at Valpoi, Society Chairman Tukaram Khot stated that he has received a letter from the employees of the society complaining that the Board of Directors are harassing the staff and also levelled several allegations against a few directors for misusing power and even not disbursing salaries in time.
Society Director Dashrat Mandrekar said when the letter was shown to the employees of the society, all the employees claimed that their signatures in the letter had been forged and they had never written such a complaint letter and the allegations levelled in the letter against the BoD are baseless and incorrect.
“The forged letter has been sent to Bangalore for handwriting and signatures verification and FIR will be filed soon to avoid misunderstanding and fear in the minds of about 8,000 shareholders,” said Mandrekar.
“Few persons are deliberately doing such things to malign the image of the BoD and damage the reputation of this progressive 40-year-old society,” added Mandrekar.
Others who spoke during the news conference included Society Vice Chairman Jhero Gaonkar, Directors Sagun Wadkar, Nakul Rane, Nasir Khan, Afsar Khan, Kanta Gaonkar and Sayyed Usman.
Meanwhile, the chairman and the BoD of the society have appealed to the shareholders and public not to panic over these undesirable developments.
They further said that unknown culprit has sent copies to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and the Opposition Leader and the society will request the chief minister and the opposition leader to initiate strict action against those involved in the mischief.
