Stop BJP workers from seeking cheap publicity: Margao Cong to CM

MARGAO: The Congress Margao Block on Tuesday requested Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane to stop BJP workers from visiting OPDs of South Goa District Hospital to take photographs for seeking cheap publicity.

The Congress said that the crowding of BJP cadres can put Goa back into the Red Zone of COVID-19 Pandemic.

Margao Block Congress President Gopal Naik said that it is unfortunate that the three times defeated BJP candidate Sharmad Raiturkar along with some others took the opportunity on Monday to click photographs standing alongside the patients in the OPD section of the newly commissioned South Goa District Hospital and post the said photographs on media and social media platforms.

“The Chief Minister and Health Minister should investigate who authorised the said BJP workers to remain present in the OPD section and in what capacity,” questioned Naik.

“‘Madgaonkars’ don’t need a ‘photo opportunist’ to represent them and hence, have continuously and consistently elected Digambar Kamat as their representative for the Legislative Assembly,” said Naik.
