Stop notice issued to IPSCDL “Smart Bus shelter” due to substandard design

In the recent smart city Panjim meeting held on Thursday, a proactive decision was made to issue to stop the “Smart Bus shelter” works in Panjim. The notice has been given to the Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) due to substandard design and the quality of the work.

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant along with the Panjim MLA, Panjim Smart City project officials and law enforcement held a discussion on the developmental works of the smart city work. One of the significant decisions was made to issue notice to IPSCDL to cease the works of bus stops in Panjim.

“I objected to the quality of the work and as per the tender that was not the way the bus stops were supposed to be built. Many criteria were put forth by the IPSCDL. Among those criteria, they were supposed to build 5 sample bus stops in 5 different places, which was not done. The qualities of the bus stops are extremely poor.” expressed Panjim MLA Babush Monserrate.

A tender was issued by the Corporate city of Panjim CCP through Kadamba Transport Corporation and Goa Tourism Development Corporation for the construction of the bus stops in Panjim. This tender was given to IPSCDL

A total 36 stops are being built by IPSCDL throughout the city of Panaji. Some of the bus stops are built haphazardly on places where it was not meant to be built. The chief minister told to issue a letter to stop the work to the Panjim MLA, stating that a better proposal has come to the CCP regarding this work.
