Stop work order served on builder

MARGAO, MARCH 22 
The Benaulim Panchayat on Sunday served a stop work order on a builder for carrying out road work without permission from the local body.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning when villagers noticed that a builder was carrying out road work outside his compound.
When the villagers and the Sarpanch went to the site, they found a road roller deployed for the work. The police was also summoned as a precautionary measure.
Sarpanch Carmelina Fernandes maintained that the builder ought to have obtained the Panchayat permission before undertaking the work.
She said a stop work order was served on the builder to immediately stop the work.
Incidentally, the Panchayat had issued a stop work order on the same builder last week for carrying out drainage works along the roadside.
