MARGAO: Jomark Dias (22), a youth from Curtorim is another Goan who was stranded in war-torn Ukraine for the last few days, but is now safe and may return back home very soon.

At the moment he has managed to reach Poland by crossing the borders of Ukraine.

It was just five months back Jomark had gone to Ukraine in search of a job, but unfortunately he had to leave due to the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia. Speaking to Herald, Maria Dias, mother of Jomark, said that her son is safe at the moment and crossed the borders of Ukraine.

“We have been in regular contact with Jomark since the war began in Ukraine. Just five months back he had landed over there.  All of us over here were very much worried. We are praying that our son returns home at the earliest,” she said.

“We are working to make arrangements to bring back Jomark. We have also managed to provide him with financial assistance so that he doesn’t get stranded in Poland,” she added.
