Stray cattle overturn garbage bins, sparking concerns in Vasco

VASCO: The presence of stray cattle in Vasco has led to a messy situation as they overturn garbage bins in search of food, leaving pedestrians and motorists frustrated. Despite warnings and penalties for improper waste disposal, the issue of bovines causing havoc in the area raises questions about municipal action.

In an effort to curb improper waste disposal, Vasco MLA initiated the installation of warning boards, but locals have now sarcastically questioned whether the authorities will take action against the stray cattle as well. Previously, people used to discard waste near garbage collection centers or on roadsides, contributing to the problem.

The situation was temporarily under control when the stray cattle were taken to the goshala (cattle pound), bringing relief to motorists. However, their sudden reappearance in large numbers over the last 15 days has taken locals by surprise, reigniting concerns about the proper management of stray animals in the town.
