Stray dogs unleash fear in Arambol

ARAMBOL: The rising population of stray dogs has been a nuisance in the coastal and populated areas and it has become extremely difficult for school and college going students to move around freely.

The canines have unleashed fear in the area as they keep chasing tourists and locals people in the area.

For the last few days, this problem has persisted in the area and a pack of 10-15 stray dogs roam around for food  and tend to get restless and aggressive if left hungry. Upon noticing any stranger or tourists, these dogs follow them in the hope of getting fed.

Foreign tourists often adopt stray dogs in coastal areas during their holiday in Goa and later let abandon them once they leave the State.

During the rainy season, these strays tend to get sick and starve, as the local people do not take initiative to feed them.

However, there is a demand from all walks of life that the concerned department should take serious note of this and provide relief to the tourists and locals residing in the coastal areas.
