PONDA: The locals of Priol and Bandora have demanded proper street lights on the Goa Engineering College-Veling Sakhav road stretch to prevent accidents, which are mainly happening due to visibility issues caused by poor illumination.
According to the locals, the GEC-Veling Sakhav road stretch is a short-cut leading to the highway at Mardol and many people, including students, use it to save their travel time.
However, though there are Electric poles there are no street lights and during night time, commuters face hardships in negotiating this road.
“Due to darkness, it is very difficult to spot them and pose high risk to the commuters and animals alike,” Gauresh Gaude said.
