Strike hits morning shift operations at Goa Dairy milk processing plant

Agents say consumers were inconvenienced due to no milk supply

The Goa Dairy milk processing plant on Monday remained non-operational during the morning shift following the brief agitation by Goa Dairy employees due to which there was no supply of milk to consumers.
The Employees Union general secretary had earlier informed the media in the morning that the milk supply would not be affected as they had temporarily postponed the strike and would join duty soon.  However, Goa Dairy sources informed that the morning shift was affected due to strike and the plant began operations in the evening.
The sources further informed that the milk would be supplied late Monday night to  around 440 Goa Dairy booths and 850 distributors. The milk would be available on January 7th morning onwards.
According to some Goa Dairy Milk booth agents in Ponda, “Every day Goa Dairy supplies milk at around 3 pm to our  booths.  But today the Goa Dairy milk consumers were inconvenienced as there was no milk supply even after 3 pm.  They were unaware of the sudden strike which caused them hardship in availing milk of other brands.
A customer said, “We depend on Goa Dairy milk, which is fresh but today did not receive the same.”
