PANJIM: Goa government has decided to follow stringent and thorough recruitment procedures for jobs such as barbers, cooks and dhobis in the Police force. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said that the recruitment process will confirm whether they are really fit for the job.
Parrikar told the House Tuesday that government will set up a committee to examine their skills before appointing them to the posts. “I had a cook from Ponda. In three months, I fell sick four times. I then began buying food from outside,” Parrikar said during the question hour.
Parrikar said that three committees would be set up one to “to taste the food cooked by the candidates,” a second to “to check how a candidate cuts hair”, and a third “to check the washing of clothes.”
“We will ensure the entire recruitment is properly done,” he added.
