Strip Milind off Urban Development ministry: Vasco MLA

VASCO: Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida and the councilors of his panel have demanded that Mormugao MLA Milind Naik be stripped off the Urban Development ministry for interference in the municipal politics.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, they demanded suspension of presiding officer Siddhivinayak Naik for not conducting the election of municipal chiefs.
Almeida condemned Siddhivinayak Naik for skipping the election meeting on the “false” pretext illness. He said that though Siddhivinayak had claimed to be sick, when he went to Goa Medical College and Hospital to visit Siddhivinayak he was not there.
Councilor Nandadeep Raut mocked Milind Naik saying he should be made a deputy chief minister of Goa.
Councilor Deepak Naik opined that this is a time when council should work to solve public issues rather than playing politics. “People are facing water clogging, tree felling, garbage menace and other such issues and to sort out this immediate election of chairperson and vice chairperson is needed,” he said.
