Sanguem: The Bandh call given by Goa Mining People Front evoked a very strong reaction in Sanguem.Except for Banks, Schools, Government Offices and medical stores all other shops and business establishments remained closed for the day. There was no untoward incident reported in any part of the taluka and majority people supported the Bandh call given by GMPF.The business establishments in Sanguem were given two days prior notice of the Bandh call by the organisers and this helped the hotel, bakery and fish vendors to plan accordingly for the day. The fish and the meat establishments also remained closed for the day. There was no hardship caused to the commuters, office goers and the school students as buses plied without any hindrance. A rally of the mining dependent people was organised in Sanguem with a large number of people participating in the rally on their two and four wheelers.
