CANACONA: Strong waves struck the Rajbag Beach on Thursday, causing heavy sand erosion in the area.
According to locals, huge waves began to pound the coast during high tide, especially at the southern end of Rajbag Beach, taking away chunks of sand into the sea. Residents estimated that over 150 metres stretch of the Rajbag Beach was washed away and they have feared further sand erosion if nature’s fury continues for some more days.
Incidentally, sand erosion was also partially noticed at Palolem and Patnem beaches.
