PANJIM: A 17-year-old student from Keri-Pernem hanged himself to death fearing he would have to repeat his examination for the second time. The Class IX student had repeated his class after he failed in one subject last year.
“The school in which he studied was expected to issue results of students today (Saturday). But it was postponed. Allegedly fearing he would fail the class this year too, he took this extreme step,” Pernem PI Sanjay Dalvi said.
The boy was found hanging in the outhouse on Friday night. Dalvi said his parents began to search for their son when he was not found around. They saw him hanging to the ceiling later. Dalvi said the parents do not suspect foul play. There, however, was no suicide note found.
