CURCHOREM: The students of Smt Chandrabhaga Tukoba Naik Primary School in Curchorem showcased their creativity by learning to make rakhis and organising a special Rakhi exhibition at their school. In the spirit of brotherhood, the youngsters collaborated with their differently-abled peers from special schools like Chetna and Sanjay Vidyalaya to craft colourful rakhis, and sell them at the exhibition. The profits from the rakhi sales were earmarked for supporting needy students.
In line with the new education policy that encourages promoting children’s artistic talents alongside traditional learning, secondary school students also took part in the creative endeavor, contributing their own beautifully crafted rakhis to the exhibition. The initiative aimed not only to celebrate the spirit of Raksha Bandhan but also to encourage the students to explore their artistic skills beyond their textbooks.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the parents of the primary school students, and Vijayakumar Kopre, Headmaster of CTN High School, lauded the initiative taken by the students. Teachers including Deepa Desai, Shubhangi Vast, Priya Govekar, and Nisha Gore provided guidance and support to the students throughout the process.
Addressing the occasion, Headmaster Kopre highlighted the importance of schools providing a platform for all-round development. He emphasised that education should not be confined to academic knowledge alone but should also nurture students’ creativity and values.
The event aimed to instill the essence of Raksha Bandhan, symbolizing the bond between brothers and sisters. The message conveyed was that if every brother respects every woman as he does his own sister, instances of oppression can be minimised.
Chairman of Jan Utkarsh Shikshan Saunstha, Ashok Naik, and Manager Vallabh Naik extended their congratulations to the teachers and students for the thoughtful initiative.
