Students in thousands have registered for Class X, Class XII first term exams

PANJIM: Eighteen thousand two hundred and sixty nine Class XII students have registered for first term examination, beginning from December 8 while another 20,667 candidates will answer the Class X examination, set to commence on December 9. 

The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE), who has divided the 2021-22 academic years into two terms with 50 per cent of the syllabus to be covered in each term, will hold its first term board examination for major subjects for Class XII from December 8 to 18. For Class X, the major subject examinations will begin from December 9 and run till December 17. 

As per the information shared by Goa Board, of the total 18,269 Class XII students, 9,265 are female candidates, 8943 are male and 61 are those seeking improvement in marks or private candidates. 

Further, a maximum of 5,490 students are appearing from Commerce stream, followed by 5083 in Science, 4699 in Arts and 2,998 for vocational. 

The first term examination will be a 90- minute paper with multiple choice questions (MCQs) only. 

For Class X, 10,436 male candidates have registered while the numbers of female students are 10,069. There are 79 students in the other category. 

In a circular issued, the Board has also informed that the second term public examination for students of Class XII will begin from March 18, 2022 while for Class X it will start from April 4, next year.
