PANJIM: Following requests from students, the Board of Technical Education has allowed additional examination opportunities to students of the diploma programme of certain batches, who had failed to clear the exams required to obtain their diploma certificates.
The students of three-year, three-and-a-half -year and four -year diploma programmes had requested the Directorate of Technical Education to grant them additional attempt for completion of their diploma programme.
The Board, during its meeting held on October 9 deliberated on the issue and decided to grant the students the additional attempts.
Students under various batches have been granted attempts- November 2020 and April 2021, to clear their exams, failing which they will stand exited from the system.
Under three-year diploma programme, the students of 2011 batch, with four or less number of courses pending completion are granted one additional attempt that is November 2020 board examination. Whereas, the students of 2012 batch are granted a Special Mercy attempt, and one mercy attempt is granted for 2013 batch students to complete their diploma programme.
Students of 2014 batch, under three-year diploma programme are granted two additional attempts – November 2020 and April 2021. A similar benefit is also given to students of 2012 batch with four-year diploma programme.
Under four-year diploma programme for students of 2009, 2010 and 2011 batch, one special mercy attempt, that is November 2020 is granted to complete it.
The students of 2011 batch with three-and-half-year programme are granted a special mercy attempt in November 2020.
