Students & Parents on protest at Kare College over cancellation of classes & exams

On Wednesday, students of Kare College in Margao along with their
parents held a protest. Yes, there are 
180 students who are protesting after receiving a letter from Goa
University that their admission process is null and they must repeat the process,
despite having attended 48 days of college.

Kare Law College principal Saba D’Silva has been sent on leave by the institute
as the Goa University’s inquiry committee found truth in the allegations of
favoritism and rigging of the college’s entrance test.

Following multiple complaints, the varsity had formed an inquiry
committee on July 3 to investigate the matter and submit its report. Students
had alleged that the principal had changed the entrance exam norms for
admissions to the BA LLB programme at the eleventh hour to favour his son.

Around 2017, both the G R Kare Law College and the Miramar-based V
M Salgaocar College of Law jointly began conducting a common entrance exam. It
was decided somewhere down the line that the colleges would take turns every
alternate year to conduct the test. This year, it was the Kare Law College’s
turn to conduct the same.
